Briana – 6 months old with her first tooth
That’s a million dollar photo. Very hard to take. Trust me! You know most babies won’t open their mouth willingly, especially when two stupid adults (that would be me and the babysitter) trying to pry her mouth open. Finally she did, still unwillingly. It was just a matter of seconds, then she closed her mouth again. Much tighter. To me that looks like the cutest tiniest pearly tooth I’ve ever seen. Mind you it is very sharp as well. I noticed it about 10 days ago when she chewed on my fingers and I lost a thumb. Just kidding.
They said most babies get their first tooth around 4 – 7 month old. Our doctor in Jakarta spotted it earlier though, when Bri was just 4 months old. She was teething furiously, had fever and diarrhea. The doctor checked her gum and noticed it was widening. He simply said Bri was getting her first tooth.

She pretty much breezed through the whole process without any major problems – well, except for the couple of days we were in Qingdao when she seemed to be in pain, wouldn’t eat and had sleeping problem. But she got over it now. Back to the usual routine again. Feeding well, sleeping well, active through the day and cheerful.
Her daily routine still pretty much the same. She would go to bed around 7pm and wakes up the next day at 6am. She would sleep through the night without waking up. In the evening when there are just the two of us, I’d give her little treats, a few tiny baby spoons of Haagen Dazs ice cream – mango flavor, her favorite. We then would watch tv together and she’ll fall asleep on my lap.
IIIIIIIIIIH…..giginya udah numbuh…….asik si KAKA digigit terus deh ma Briana. Selamat ya Bri untuk gigimu yang baru tumbuh. Selamat menuju kedewasaan..he…he..he

I can assure you all that the tooth is definitely SHARP – after managing to get my thumb stuck in the hinge of the pram, Briana decided later in the day to chew on the same thumb….. ahhhhh not good!!
So cute. But I thought there’s only one tooth ya?

baru keluar satu de, satunya lagi masih di dalem gusi. Tapi emang jarinya dia masuk mulut terus, non-stop tuh gigit2 seharian
Udah tuh mak, emang dia paling hobi minjem jari orang buat digigit-gigit……
Cepet besar, umur 6 bulan dah ada gigi. Anakku umur 11 bulan baru keluar
