This little monkey is now  10 months 3 weeks old. And  SHE IS FINALLY WALKING ON HER OWN.  Wooo-hoooooooo!!! I am one proud mommy. This mischievous monkey has been “walking” since she was 8 months old. On her own, she would try walking a few steps then continued by crawling.

She had her first 12 steps a few of days ago on February 20th – that’s when uncle David was in town. Yups, he came for a visit to spend the weekend with us. Briana sure misses him.  Not to mention Kitkat, our pet female cat who got soooo excited and decided to do something naughty on the carpet. Bad Kitkat….  bad cat! Nah, I can’t blame her. Uncle David has sort of that effect on women. *rotfl*  No …..  seriously, I mean some women think men who cook are sexy. Some of us think it’s a turn on. *at least I think so*   (hubby is an ex-chef himself). When we used to live in Hohhot, he has a crowd of female admirers.  Some of them were stalkers…..   well,  they’re a bit obvious. You know, the kind of people who just hang around the hotel lobby waiting to see him coming down from his office.  Some admirers even bought him gifts and expensive presents, wine and dine him.  Hubby and I tried to convince him to get a mama-san instead. Get pampered and taken care of.  Just kidding…..     Anyway, he’s still single. And yes he knows how to bake beautiful cakes, sweet pastries and all those yummy treats.

Okay, back to the walking little monkey. I was in the kitchen getting something to drink and Bri was in the living room with Daddy. All of the sudden he called out to me ” Quickly, come quickly here….  she’s walking!!!”  Sure enough, I rushed to see the little monkey tentatively moving forward, one foot after another, still wobbly but those were steps. Not tiptoes. She was concentrating on a toy across the room. I grabbed my mom’s arm to get her attention. She then too held her breath. Amazed. 8…. 9…. 10…. 11…..  12……   lost her balance all of the sudden and landed on the soft carpet. Very good, Bri!  She turned around looking at me with a big grin on her face.  Everyone was laughing and clapping.

I sort of lost track of days. Sorry, seem to be a normal thing nowadays.  These are some photos taken last week during the Chinese New Year holiday when Daddy took her for a swim on the 3rd floor of the hotel. Bri seemed to enjoy the water a bit more this time. She was a little bit overwhelmed with the amount of water. Didn’t take long though. Before long she’s already swimming along with daddy,  paddling her feet. Go Bri, go!!!
