That wasn’t the theme of the party. No, it wasn’t even supposed to be a party. We planned for a simple lunch with a couple of friends and hotel’s staff who are close to Bri. Faces that she knows. Probably a few balloons here and there, and maybe a tiny cake. But somewhere down the line, it turned out to be a party. Arranged by the staff of the hotel. Very nice of them of course. But pretty overwhelming for the lil one.
Now I’m not going to sound ungrateful or anything, but really, it wasn’t necessary. The well-intended little birthday party was arranged in the private room, decorated with candles, balloons, party streamers and hats. Apparently all of the hotel’s managers are coming over as well. That’s very nice of them, isn’t it Bri? You love them being there. It’s just sometimes loud noises and too much commotion makes you a bit unsure of what to do. Finally after they all sang Happy Birthday, she knew what she wanted to do ……
She spent almost the entire afternoon clinging to my arm.
