Going back to my food photo activity again. I’m getting really comfortable with my camera now – with the thought in mind of adding another one or two new lenses.
A 50mm and an 85mm. Or either one, anyway. The two shots down here are test shots using a new Nikon flash SB 800. I still need to practice a lot to get the hang of it. Will definitely have to setup a place for my studio in the new apartment. I’m planning on browsing the antique market of Shanghai to find worn-out dining table and perhaps some vintage cutleries & plates. Can’t hardly wait to go for a treasure hunt!
I’m finding myself in the kitchen more now. Besides cooking for the little one, I’m also pampering a friend. She just told me she’s 6 weeks pregnant. Nothing would make a young preggie mom happier than a nice long missed home-cooked Indonesian food. Not all preggies are excited about going into the kitchen. Some said it depends on the sex of the baby – if you have a baby boy, you’ll likely stay away from it. I, on the other hand, used to spend many afternoons in the kitchen cooking and then taking photos. I loved being in the kitchen. So does little Briana now, loves being in the kitchen with me. It’s almost impossible to stop her.
Today’s lunch is Ayam Bakar Bumbu Rujak, plus some super spicy salted fish in green chilies. Not sure how much on the Scoville Heat Scale, but I can assure you it is spicy enough to burn your lips, tongue and everything it passes down. I used those special green chilies from India. My, they are little beauties. Tiny in size but a real kickass.
I put all the design work on hold as I’m now doing a golf charity website for the hotel. The focus will be on simple design, easy to navigate layout and most importantly the images. If this one is a go, I will be maintaining, hosting and content updating for indefinite time. Yay! Little one said one more word – “Tiger” – I think she said “tiger”. It was actually more like a “…..ger” but she knew what I mean. Every time I roar and show her the claw thing, she says “…ger” . Hihihihihi, cute!
I really gotta get more scribbly stuff for her. Bigger paper, more crayons (or I think color pencils), huge plastic sheet for her to splash around with finger paints. She absolutely loves scribbling.

Ayam Bakar gampang bikinnya. Yang enak sih kalo ngeracik bumbu sendiri. Atau kalau kamu punya bumbu Munik yang ayam panggang/ayam goreng – tambahin santen secangkir & gula jawa. Deket2 mau mateng bumbu udah hampir kering masukkin kecap Bango beberapa sendok sama perasan jeruk nipis. Terus dipanggang di oven….
Ia mia, gampamg kan bikinnya. Bumbu merk munik itu enaaak banget emang.
