Last night her temp was going up again. The third time in the day. We were down at the spa when the babysitter called, as I asked her to, in case Bri’s temperature was high again.

She was still chatty and all, played around but already refused her food. I could see the energy draining out of her. By the time daddy got home, we rushed her to Parkway in Jinqiao. Unfortunately around chinese new year, most hospitals are closed. Nobody is open for business, even hospitals. It seemed like my worst nightmare came true — couldn’t find a hospital while my baby needs help quick. After some time driving around and making some phone calls, we were informed that one hospital near Xintiandi downtown is open. I think it took us about 40 mnts to get there.
Thankfully by the time we got there, her temp took a dive. All of the sudden she was her happy self again. Curious and busy exploring every inch and corner. We both know it was going to be temporary before the temperature rapidly increase again some time soon. That’s what we’re trying to avoid. Any emergency cases in the middle of the night. Our place is almost 40 mnts to 1 hour drive away from the nearest available hospital. Too far away in case it’s a death-threatening situation. *knock on wood*
The doctor said it was a viral + bacterial infection. Not serious but we had to keep her hydrated and keep an eye on the temperature. The next morning she was so sick to get out of bed. She could only managed a weak whimper while laying in bed instead of jumping off the bed and tagging me into the bathroom like she used to do every morning. Around 11am I moved her in front of the couch in the living room, propped up her body with 2 pillows, put Barney dvd on and trying to put any liquid food I could into her. So far I only managed half glass of juice, a cup of yoghurt, a few sips of pumpkin soup and a few bites of cheese omelette that she spat out after the 4th bite

Despite being unable to move much, she can still motion to daddy

Hope she’s getting better soon. Last week Jake had a slight fever. Gosh, couldn’t imagine not being able to find a doctor when you need him most. I feel so lucky that our kids pediatrician is available 7/24. Surely over the week-end, the patients’ calls go to the triad nurse, but for emergency cases (it happened to Jake once when he was 2), the pediatrician gave us a call back. Same thing with my OBGyn, he was available when we called him at 2 and 5 in the morning
get well soon, gorgeous girl
